Celia Lury
- PhD and Master of Arts in Sociology, University of Manchester
- Director at Centre for Interdisciplinary Methodologies, University of Warwick
Founder, academic and researcher at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Methodologies at the University of Warwick. Her work comes from her interest in the ways in which ‘live methods’ enact social worlds. She works in interdisciplinary methodologies, feminist and cultural theory, sociology of culture, consumer culture, and algorithms.
Lury studies the ways in which ‘live’ methods contribute to the enactment of social worlds. A current approach involves looking at the role of methods such as classification, optimization and biodetection in the making of a topological culture.
